Topic: Correct Timing Pointer for '69 351W?

It's me again, Margaret!     Seriously, I'm close to getting this hodgepodge of parts back together into a concours looking 351 Windsor.  Can anyone confirm what the original timing pointer should look like on a '69 351W?  I'm looking for a used one, but I've come across two styles and I need to know which is correct for my application.

Depends on your Timing Cover and the bolt Location on it for the pointer, as this changeover happened Mid-Point in the year. Not sure of the exact date. Someone here most likely knows more on this subject. With your Very Late Build Date, I would lean towards the Later Version. One Pointer Mounts on LH Side of Timing Cover, One Mounts on RH.

Thanks for the reply.  The car was built on June 5th, 1969, so it's fairly late in the model year.  Would a picture of the original timing cover help determine which pointer it used?

Yes, a picture will help. What are the number Stampings on it?

I've got the pictures taken, but I'll have to wait until I get home tonight to upload them.  The casting number on the cover is C9OE-6059-A.

The C9OE-A cover uses the Ds/Lh Pointer, Option 1. on your initial post. Make sure this is a Date Matching cover. there will be a Year inside a Circle, (69) surrounded by Dots......... Count the Dots for a Month Code.

Yes, that cover uses the LH Timing Pointer Mount. I see 5 Dots ..... for the Month, if there is a (69) Stamped in there, then I would deem it Date Correct for your Car.
