Accelerator Linkages Painting?

(1/2) > >>

LouisGT350H:
I have a 1966 hertz shelby.   Can any one advise how the accelerator linkages were painted?   They look like part were painted blank and some of them left a natural blank zinc color?

Thanks

carlite65:
no paint on any parts there. all plating. either zinc or p&o.

Are you asking about the linkage between the acceleration bell crank/arm attached to the firewall and the carburetor? As offered nothing is painted as far as linage or rods, but finish depends on the specific part.

Might be able to answer your own question if you look through the unrestored picture thread. For this need I suggest a thread titled Late 66 San Jose C Code Coupe- Unrestored Picture Thread. Most likely the answer is in the initial posting

LouisGT350H:
These are the parts I was talking about, the accelerator linkages.

As you can see from the pic, looks like the part which goes in engine bay is painted mat, but the part inside the car which the pedal is on is left grey unpainted?

Regards

The section from inside the car where it was more protected from the elements confirms the phosphate original finish. Just need to clean and replate the item then put a protective coating on it

Lots of things and surfaces get painted in the engine compartment by prior owners trying to fresh up the look or cover over other things
