65 289 valley markings
« on: August 22, 2013, 01:31:17 AM »
Hello. I have a question concerning a  unusual, at least to me , casting in the valley of my 65 289 block. Besides having the regular 289 and 1-3-5-7-9 wheel, ive found what appears to be a 302 casting but this one i cant find any photos of anywhere ive looked. It appears that between the 3 and the 0 is what looks to be the feathers of an arrow and between the 0 and the 2 is the arrowhead. Does any one know what these castings mean? Date stamp 4K7 on the oil pan mounting surface. 4K1 casting behind starter. C5AE-6015E block casting. Any info would be helpful. Thanks.
