Hell I wonder if the car even had an engine and trans or was it just a mock up body for doing that little stunt.

I can let you know. I was invited to go to the Empire State Building (one of 3 people form the club), unfortunately I will be in Charlotte, but a friend is going and can give details after the 21st.
