Title: Windshield washer pump pedal
Post by: Sunlitgold68 on April 20, 2010, 08:32:20 AM
Does the windshield washer pump pedal come apart? Tried to remove the plastic hexagon part and rubber part but was afraid it may break. If so, how does it come apart, was going to blast and repaint.

I'd recommend masking off the areas that aren't painted before you blast/strip.  I never tried to get one apart.

Yep, Tim's on the money.  Plastic and rubber bulb unsrew, can be quite stuck together.  The switch can be pried open and cleaned/lubed.

You "can" drill out the rivet, disassemble, and make a new one, but as noted I just masked and painted.  You can mask the switch box and do a silver/grey and balck eslewher to get "close".  To remove and replate would be a PITA...

I think the rubber bellows is now reproduced, not sure about anything else.
