Been cleaning up the front half of the car and was stripping some parts down, didn't know if anyone had noticed the part number is stamped on the bracket that holds the power steering hoses to the bracket at the lower control arm. Thought I'd share

Don't think that is the engineering number. Might instead be the stamping date from the provider
I'm reading it a C5271 is that correct?

Correct. I painted it a couple of days ago to black again so I haven't checked if the number is still readable

If it a date then a possible decoding may be
271 = Sept 28th
The C5 may be Cleveland stamping plant in 65 or possibly for the application a 65 model car.
Just a possibility

That would fall inline with a 10/29 build date. Would be interesting to see other examples...
