I have a 1970 Metuchen built Boss 302. I am trying to find information as to whether all Boss 302s came with a heat shield and a heat riser tube. Appreciate any assistance.
Thanks
Mark

Yes they did. Provides heated air for the snorkel that in turn controlled the position of the air inlet into the air cleaner and then carburetor

Thanks Jeff, was it a specific Boss part or a 70 Mustang part?

Specific for application and year so a 69 Boss will differ from a 70 Boss
Reproductions of the shielded are available - not cheap but few Boss specific items are

Semo sells the reproductions
For example the 70 version

Just an update. I managed to get the heat shield and riser tube as well as the correct wittek clamp from Deadnutson and they are all being fitted this week.
