Wiper Arms

What color should the wiper arms be on a 74 coupe?  Currently they are black and they look out of place. I have read someplace they are black at least on some models.  I don’t recall them being black on the car I had back in 83. The car does have some bright work trim which I think silver would match better than black.  Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

I believe all of the '74s and '75s had black wiper arms. That is based on my somewhat limited research and the dealer brochure pictures. I do agree that they look out of place though and wonder why Ford did it that way.,

Hey Kevin and Bill,
The Black arms are correct for a  74-75 , but some early 74's had bright ones, but we never see to many 1974's do we?
The black is to reduce glare from the sun.
I saw a 74 in Seattle once, it had bright ones and it was unrestored.
I would only make a comment on the judging sheet , no points deducted, if they were not black.
I will look into this more.

i used to have a 12/73 build '74 mach I. it had the bright arms.

So black it is for 74. This is a April build car so kind of late.

I did see some pictures of cars with silver wiper arms but they seem to be mostly 77/78 and with trim that the black would stand out.
