Power Steering Hose Too Short
« on: January 09, 2012, 11:39:51 PM »
My 64 1/2 power steering return hose appears to be too short. I'm reassembling my June 64 Dearborn260 engine, and I got ready to attach the power steering return hose just to discover it was not long enough. For the Eaton power steering pump, part vendors sell a replacement return hose that is 26-inchs long listed as correct for the Eaton pump, but it is about 8-inches short of reaching the remote power steering reservoir that is mounted to my inner fender apron (see picture). I believe the hoses listed must be for non A/C applications where the Eaton reservoir is attached to the top of the pump, this is the only way the hoses being sold could ever reach the reservoir.

Has anyone else ever encountered this issue? Any ideas where a long enough power steering return hose for the Eaton remoter power steering reservoir could be purchased?
