Alternator spacer on 70 Boss 302 - gold or silver?
« on: June 16, 2012, 02:09:39 AM »
Gold or Silver?
MCA rules say alternator spacer is gold for boss 302.  (Silver for Boss 429).
I disagree with MCA on this one.  I can't think of a single aluminum part on the Mustang that is gold anodized for corrosion purposes.
What say the experts here?

Thanks,
Rick

Well Jack knows what's up, and he sells silver.

Catch all generic repops come out for 66-70 289, 302/B302 in gold, and people start thinking that's correct.

Rick, I have 3 with Gold anodized spacers and one with raw aluminum spacer. The 3 with Gold are November 69 or earlier cars. The Silver spacer is on June 70 car. The gold spacers are a light Gold anodize not real dark Gold like repops. I consider either concours correct.

Thanks for the feedback. I think either should be acceptable as well.
