Title: 68 Shelby fog light mounting plate
Post by: cobra427 on September 15, 2014, 09:12:43 AM
I'm starting to put my 68 GT500 back together and I notice that the fog light mounting piece was painted the same color as the car.  I think this is to be painted semi gloss black, or gloss black?  Does anyone know which is correct?

Thanks

Are you talking about the support bat that is under the fiberglass nose piece? If so it and the 2 triangle corners are SG black. Attaching bolts are P&O self threading, usually sems head

Yes, Tim I kinda though they were SG Black but didn't know for sure.  Mine were painted the color of the car.

At first when I put the tringle corners supports on I had them on backwards and the brace looked too long, then I turned them around and it fit.  The brace piece will be covered up with the top fiberglass, but I wanted it painted correctly.  They must of painted the car with the brace on.

Thanks

Braces were pre painted then attached to car. Fiberglass was painted off the car then attached
