Radiator application question C80E-B1
«

Can anyone tell me what cars a C80E-B1 radiator with date code 7HB would go to. I have seen 428 and 390 and Fairlane/Torino/Mustang etc... and I would really like to know ground truth before I post it or keep it pending its application. It is definitely the large 24" and definitely has the connection for transmission lines so I know it for an Automatic.
Thanks,
Dan

According to the MPC the Fairlane/Torino radiator has a core height of 17-3/8" whereas the Mustang is 16", so they don't interchange. There are "O" radiators for Fairlane/Torino and "Z" radiators for the Mustang.
In the 1968 MPC there are two 24-1/4" Fairlane/Torino radiators. The base 390 (non GT) without extra cooling or A/C has a core thickness of 1-1/2" and has a service part number of C8OZ-8005-C.
The 390 GT and 428 cars had a core thickness of 2-1/4" and a service part number of C8OZ-8005-C.
I recommend measuring the core height and thickness.

I found a hit on the 65-72 MPC which cross references the C8OE-B to C8OZ-8005-C.

67gta289,
Thank you. It measured out at what you said for 390 GT
and 428 CJ if 2 1/4" core makes the difference. It is an "O" not a zero in the part number, thanks for helping me out on all that. Im going to post it since I don't own a Torino or Fairlane.

Correct, Ford used the letter "O" to designate the Fairlane/Torino during these years. Not one of their better ideas. Where I worked we could not use the letters I, O, or Q because they could be misinterpreted as "1's and 0's"
