Title: Replacing tubular rivets in 66 grille
Post by: sgl66 on July 22, 2016, 03:38:38 PM
I need to replace 2 rivets. I have the correct tubular style, what are people using to crimp them?

I use one of these, bought back when it wasn't as expensive. You also need two dies, one domed for the top of the rivet, one with a "pin" for the bottom.

I made this tool for installing tubular rivets on my 67 Mustang Grille.
Same tool will work on your 66.

Use a 3/16 steel ball-bearing under the die attached to the threaded shaft to prevent the die from spinning. The tool works great.
