Title: Calamco pony upholstery accuracy?
Post by: dsielke on July 11, 2017, 09:53:44 PM
Just how close to original were calamco pony upholstery sets? Someone has posted an calamco parchment pony set I am interested in. It has the darker pony inserts like original so I was just hoping they were.

I don't know the brand but finding a repro set with the darker insert is a big plus in my book.

I remember the Calamco advertisements from the 80's/90's.  Unfortunately, have no recollection or info regarding accuracy.  Would help to see some pics of what you have.  Even if they are more correct, depending on how the covers were stored, the foam may be in bad shape.  I have seen older brand new repro seat covers in the box with the foam disintegrating/crumbling off.

I don't own the upholstery, just might be interested in purchasing. The foam based on the pics doesn't look that bad as far as I can tell.

Looks nice in the pics.  The parchment inserts will fade to a greenish brown looking color.
