Title: inside trunk wheel well paint
Post by: 70tachamp on May 28, 2013, 08:06:32 AM
Is the outer portion of the wheel well and inside quarter panel painted of a 65 Dearborn convert. body color or black? I was looking at a 66 this weekend that had original paint inside the trunk and it was painted body color up to the split in the wheel well and was black on the outer half and quarter panel. This car as well as mine has the factory sound deadener on the quarter. My 65 is painted VB.

All the painted surfaces in the trunk were painted body color during 64-70 production. You can find allot of other things done by PO's - in fact saw stick on shelf paper used one for a wood grained effect. Didn't make it original ;)

Since you stated you thought the car had original paint in the trunk - were the bare metal circles still there around the dolly attachment points in the trunk?
