351 w paint detail questions

On a 1969 351 w, was the plate between the block/trans painted blue? The pad where the distributor mounts, was that painted? The small machined area where the hold down bolt goes. Done with the dyno trip, time to finish details.

Yes with fading to bare steel in the area where the starter would attach to assure a good ground for its operation. If your "adding" the plate after paint remember to paint the edge/lip around the sides and top of the engine as if it had been in place when the engine was painted. Owners/shops will often paint the bottom and miss the top and sides :(
