Notice that the factory screw uses a contoured washer made with the screw . The washer allows the screw to turn and tighten without tearing the vinyl.

FYI - My car had the Deluxe Door Panels with the attachment screws.
Build date at SJ was 9/22/1966...

April '67 built has the same holes...same place...now I won't feel bad if I have to use them at some point.

Challenge for the early car owners is that we may never know which were factory and which were dealer added.
