Just an update on the site and one of the reasons we went offline recently. We've moved off a shared server to a dedicated server by our hosting provider. We also have a dedicated IP address and were able to consolidate some services and bring the cost down in the process. Hopefully this keeps the site resilient and reliable for many years to come.
We will need to update the forum software sometime soon. The older version has run it's course and was the reason for a 2-3 hour outage last week. A component was upgraded by our provider and caused an incompatibility with the older forum version. The update was undone, but in working to prevent that from happening again, it's in our best interest to update the forum (SMF) software. This will probably be done sometime before the end of the year. We want to take a full, 100% backup before doing anything. Hopefully the upgrade will be relatively transparent, but we'll give notification of when it's planned.
Also, for those on Facebook, we do have a group there and was able to give folks an update there during the recent outages.
