Wheel ID
« on: January 11, 2022, 05:55:23 PM »
Need some help from the wheel experts.

I'm told they are 15x6.

Any idea what they are from?

Thanks

They are either a truck application or non-Ford, can't remember exactly which.

Thanks for that Charles.

The date code would be 1966, April, 1st week?

Sounds right Pete, probably 1976?

I heard 15x6 and thought Shelby wheel!  ;)

Trucks have a 5x5.5 bolt pattern. Lincolns have 5x5.
The lack of nubs points more to  T-birds and other full size cars that always use full wheel covers.
[edit -- correct truck size]

Thanks for that Bossbill. I saw the lack of nubs too and guessed it would have only been for full wheel covers.

The center opening measures 2 3/4" and is not a nice smooth circle, what is with that?

Rodster -- I'm not sure about that odd edge on the hub center. From memory that hole is too big. As I recall a can of pop should not be able to go through the hub hole on a 67 Shelby.
I should also note that trucks come stock with dog dish caps so their wheels should have nubs.
