From what we understand earlier built 67 GT350's and 500's were equipped at San Jose with the flat standard (non-GT) valances originally. These valances were modified at Shelby but cutting a semi-circle design on each side and trimming that opening with 66 Mustang GT exhaust trim rings with the lower section removed or in some cases with exhaust trim bezels used on special models of 67 Cougars.  Later in the production year the bodies from San Jose were equipped with the 67 Mustang rear GT valances so that no modifications were needed at Shelby as they had been.

Each completion date for each car (San Jose and Shelby) is an important factor since for the cutout style the Shelby date is the main factor while the change from non-GT valance to the GT valance would something related to the San Jose completion date.

So as usual it would be good to have examples where the car has not been restored, wrecked or modified.

Thanks for checking the thread out and lets hope this will produce some results helpful to current and future owners of these cars.
