Generator Paint - Further Clarification
« on: February 28, 2012, 09:34:19 PM »
From the 2011 MCA rules:  "64½ Generator: Semi-gloss black with black or natural pulley and fan. Non-A/C - must have correct shield, A/C cars have no shield. HiPo - shield optional. Generator must have correct rubber boot and caps on terminals. Black or natural adjuster bracket."

Should the nut and lock washer be painted to match the pulley and fan in either black or natural?

Is there really a right or wrong in regards to choosing black or natural for the fan and pulley?

Generator end plates, Semi-gloss black as with main body?

Car is April 1964 Dearborn car with D-code V8.

Thanks.

John

The generator is painted as an assembly, like the starter.  The attaching bolts are usually natural.
