Bare aluminum parts on engine
« on: March 08, 2023, 09:18:07 PM »
I recently purchased a low mileage 2007 mustang. It's been garage kept with 6400 miles on it. I'm looking for suggestions to 1. Clean the white powdery film from the bare aluminum engine parts. 2. How to keep the same parts clean. I do plan to show the car in the unrestored class when the opportunity comes along.  Thanks the suggestions.

The white power is aluminum corrosion . You can eliminate that on the closed pore aluminum by wiping down the parts with a rust inhibitor like T9.It will dry to the touch.
