Jeff, read your article for underlayment, are you using the same underlayment for the interior or is there a specific company you are using for interior underlayment?

No we didn't use the same (though it would be more correct) process to make the underlayment under the carpet. Way too much effort at this point. Instead we used the sheets the owner purchased (basically roofing tar felt) that we cut and reheated to form them - since they fit so poorly.



I'm afraid that if we used the original thickness the reproduction carpet would have fit very poorly

Is there one you prefer more that any other. When restored my Mach 1 used ACC underlayment seems to work really well. You can respond via e-mail if you would like??? I am attempting to tackle the underlayment project this week wife will be out of town can USE the kitchen table and counter as a work base.
