Water pump that came off my June 70 built Mustang with a 351C has a date code of
G
F23
What does this decode to?
-
F23 is June 23rd, but that G is a mystery to me.
Sure it's not a 0 for 1970?
Here's a 1970 Dec 22nd date coded 351C water pump.
-
Not a "G" but I believe it was a "makers mark" identifying the marker/company/plant that made that pump
-
It must be an aftermarket replacement
-
Here's a bunch more pics of an overpriced water pump I posted the date code pic of showing the casting number and ford logo for comparison to your pump.

Don't believe so if your just going by the additional makers markings. Ford often subbed out parts to non-Ford suppliers and makers - normally multiple ones since they never wanted to be held hostage to any single source, problems or worker unrest/problems

Jeff I don't see any other markings then those in my picture and no date code in the format from that era.......so looks unusual to me
That's why I'm thinking auto parts store reman pump

Agreed after looking over the picture again - don't know how I skipped over yours and only saw the one 7Lscjracer posted ???
Might not be remanufactured but aftermarket all the same
