Title: Steering gearbox cover plate?
Post by: Wills70 on February 03, 2018, 12:38:22 PM
Hi , I have 2 cover plates , not sure if one is oem. The manual box cover has the FoMoCo stamped on it , the power steering box I purchased has some different numbers on it and no FoMoCo. I dont know why some one would switch out a cover plate. Is this typical?
Thanks Will

Never seen one marked like the one on the right. Looks like a replacement of some sort maybe from a rebuilder or aftermarket over the years

Thanks Jeff , I agree looks to be a replacement , could not find one in the NPD catalog . I guess I will place a "wanted" add to see if anyone would have an OEM cover plate to spare.
Thanks Will
