Title: best way to restore plastic lenses
Post by: sparky65 on December 07, 2010, 08:47:39 PM
Any tricks or methods to clean and polish plastic lenses?  Right now I am working on the taillight lenses and there are some very light scuff marks on them.

Try that plastic polish for headlight lenses that's readily available now. It's lightly abrasive, and will take down plastic very slowly until you get the desired result. Do not use a power buffer because it heats up and can ruin plastic very quickly. In the past, I've also used DuPont white polishing compound which is the right consistency too.

Have used toothpaste in the past of chrome (the paste in the tube stuff) polish. Seal them when done (a glaze) will help them stay nicer longer
