Title: 65 4-SPEED TRANS
Post by: Airborne on December 24, 2010, 02:53:13 PM
Hi guys, Need some help with this mustang. Its the trans which has me puzzled ???
Someone i know has just purchased this car here in the u.k. It has been in a museum for about 35 years (15 in u.s and 20 in the u.k) sold at auction. The car looks untouched and has some lovely original parts on it. A lot of work needs doing as all rubbers are cracked or perished. The car is a 65 fastback vin 5R09A1346?? so correct me if I'm wrong put early production of 65 year? maybe the first month? Door tag states Trans 5 which i take is a four speed manual but its the early type (narrow) with four bolts not the eight bolts. Tag on trans HEH-G on a 6bolt 289 is this correct? also output is a 28 spline not 25? Any help info etc would be appreciated.
regards Matt
Merry Christmas to all.
