Title: Drooping Dash Pad
Post by: Sunlitgold68 on January 27, 2011, 11:23:27 AM
I've noticed my 68 dash pad droops down on both sides a little, the underside portion. Is this something we just have to live with? Do they all look like this after 40+ years?

When I got my 67 over 20 years ago it had a droopy dash, about 1 1/2".  I set up a board under the passenger side propped up with another board to the floor. Warmed it up with a heat gun and let it sit that way for a few days. It's stayed straight ever since. The car had been closed up outdoors for about 14 years prior to my ownership.

My 66 was very droopy right hand side.  When I removed the dash pad, the metal support was bent down (during a previous accident?) and I simply bent it back into shape.  Now the dash pad sits good!
