What is the best way to strip 65 Mustang horns etc. to repaint as I know a few guys here have done cars?
-
I stuffed rags tightly inside the horn bells and sand blasted the horns on both of my cars. It didn't hurt the horns at all and they still worked when done.

I use cut pieces of foam rubber, 1X1X6 inches, to stuff into the opening. Make sure it works before you do anything. One trick if it don't work is to remove the adjustment screw and squirt some WD-40 in the screw hole, replace the screw and test while adjusting the screw.

I did the same and sand blasted them, but went further and completely dissembled them. Lots of rust on the inside. Now they are like new.

How about a "how-to" as to what you did to disassemble, clean, reassemble and items needed.

Does anyone make a kit for the larger horns on the 64 1/2 generator equipped cars?
