Picked up a set of NOS 67-68 rocker panel mouldings. One is absolutely perfect. The other still had the Ford packaging - paper back with clear plastic on the front side. The plastic on the front has some sort of glue, and it is coming off in small pieces - not too much fun. The glue residue however has me worried. Started with alcohol, then lacquer thinner, and xylene. Nothing really gets down all the way. Any recommendations out there? I will need to get a bit more aggressive, but don't want to go past the point of no return. Thanks.

WD-40 has never failed at disolving adhesive. Let it soak in for 5 or 10 minutes, wash, rinse, repeat if necessary

Good idea. Nice commercial reference. If it works, I'll tell two friends, and so on.
