Cam Thrust Washer
« on: March 01, 2015, 02:57:25 PM »
While reassembling the engine, I bolted the Camshaft Thrust Washer, (behind the Cam Gear), without any Thread Lock of some sort. If I recall correctly, the specs called for 15ft.lb. of Torque and am afraid that the bolts will loosen over time.

Does anyone know, should Thread Lock or some other product be used on certain bolts to prevent them from backing out?

Thanks

Ray

Many Ford engines of that era didn't use anything and are still running. If you are concerned, use the purple Lock-Tight. Red Lock-Tight is for studs and way too strong. Remember, all threads must be dry.
