Power top switch
« on: May 01, 2018, 12:54:01 PM »
Still working on this '70 XR7. Cleaning out the console and found a new convertible top switch. Hmm... with good reason, the top does not work!
Has anyone replaced one of these? Please don't tell me the dash pad has to come out.

                 Thanks,  Pete.

1970 Mercury Cougar XR7 convertible top switch is unique to the 1970 XR7 only. You can use a power window switch, but you need to move the pin connections on the plug of your wiring harness. Additionally, there is a modification that needs to be done to the switch itself. Plus change the rocker button. We have it all illustrated on our web site.
