Topic: Trying to identify this part and wiring

Hi Everyone, I am trying to identify this part which came out of a 69 Mustang. Sorry, I have no other information about the car.

I take it that its a metal housing/box.

With all those 90 degree female ends I can't think of an application in a 69 or other classic Mustang

Maybe someone else has seen it before

Guess the paper tag has nothing legible printed on it or the metal housing

+1. in the context of a 65-70 Mustang I can't place it or it has been modified with other parts for some reason .

Thanks both of you and the paper tags and the metal housing have no identifying features.

Maybe it is a modifcation that has been doen over the years.

Is it an underhood harness?

I don't know but I suspect it could be an aftermarket rev-limiter.

When I first saw it I thought transistor ignition box and wiring.
The 90* plugs sure look like they would hook to a coil.
And the number of wires going into the box reminds me a bit of Duraspark.
Maybe a predecessor? Or aftermarket?

I would agree with Bill. There were many aftermarket Electronic Ignition gadgets in the early 70's and on that often were less reliable than a set of points dialed in correctly. Hang it on the wall as a wall flower and/or eBay it. Somebody will take it!

I recently sold a used aftermarket set of wires and dist cap from a 56 TBird I helped restore.  Yes there are buyers for just about anything!

I think it would make a nice wallflower as an example of 'early' technology.

I was going to suggest the speed control, but the schematics for it look nothing like what you show.  It obviously has something to do with the engine gauge feed harness, unless there are two separate harnesses simply taped together.  I clearly see the engine gauge feed harness plug and connectors, though.

Careful what you think of as "early technology"...Some of us old dinosaurs might actually get "offended"!
