York Compressor 1967 vs 1968
« on: December 17, 2018, 09:58:44 PM »
Are there differences in the compressor between the two years? My '67 Fastback has a York Compressor with a C8AA tag on it. I will have it rebuilt and get a correct tag as long as they are otherwise the same.

I believe there are differences in the Clutch Pulley, so I will try to locate a rebuilt one. Does anyone have a source?

I have read R&S Motorsport might be an option for the proper tag. Has anyone contacted them recently?

Thanks
Bill

Bill my April 28 Dearborn built car has a C7AA-2875B2 with a 047 date, April 67. The A/C lines are 67 only also there are some pics on the forum of them too.

I think you mean R+A Motorsports. You would have to look up their web site and call to check if they still do.

I think the transition was early 68 production instead.

I think it is more the differences in the styles of clutch used . You have the brush type and you have the electro magnetic type. It was somewhat plant dependent  besides time frame.

So, if I understand correctly, I could rebuild my current compressor, get the correct tag, get the correct clutch pulley and correct lines?

Thanks for the correction Bob. No wonder I was having trouble finding them.
