1967 GT 500 drivers side upholstery
« on: March 18, 2020, 11:49:14 PM »
I have an original interior 1967 GT 500. It's in great shape with the exception of the drivers seat. Does anyone have an original black comfort weave bucket seat cover in good shape where they may have replaced their interior with new TMI?

What part of the seat is damaged?

I think most people on this forum will not want to replace their original Comfortweave with TMI. If the outside vinyl is ripped or worn then you might be able to rescue a panel from a standard seat. Or, there are upholstery vendors who purport to have matching vinyl.
I plan on using the existing Comfort weave portion and just having new side panels attached. Would that work for you?

I didn't see an upholstery thread (albeit I didn't look that hard).

Only drivers seat is damaged. Upper smooth area seam by door is torn open. Not enough material to re sew. Seat is torn inside edge between smooth and comfort weave areas. Again, too torn to be able to sew without a patch panel.

Was able to get my local shop to use the original material taken from an original back seat to serve as a donor if you want to keep the material original. That split was on the drivers seat on the lower section. Don't recall if it was the center or the outer bolster

If the center section is the one torn it may be difficult to find a good donor comfort weave rear seat from a coupe but worth a shot if you can locate one
