+1 . First thing I would want to see is a view of where the nipple typically is or if opening is missing or is plugged. If hole is missing a view of the list number area to determine of if any tampering .

There will be a hole under the lip where the arrow is pointing. The 1/4" steel tube is missing.

First off we need to determine if the tube that is supposed to be there is missing or plugged .
There will be a hole under the lip where the arrow is pointing. The 1/4" steel tube is missing.
If the hole is is not there at all is when the air horn data needs to be looked at to see if it has been counterfeited.

I had the exact same problem about 3 weeks ago on a C8OF AA carburetor. I cut a piece of 1/4" cupronickel plated steel tubing about 2" long and then drove it into the hole with a brass punch and a rubber mallet. The original part was gold dichromate cad plated 1/4" steel tubing.

Well great news for me the hole is there. Now hopefully its not bad news how do I find one, buy an old carb?

I made hundreds of them out if steel tubing and replated them.
Not a big deal.

After reading the above posts I agree with the position and will also add mine is 2 and 5/8” of an inch long.
¼” diameter.
Correct me if the tube has been replaced.

I bought a C9AF-N reissue carb from Carls Ford Parts a while back. That tube was missing on the carb I got. He sent me a brand new tube for me to tap in place after I removed the plug that Holley had installed on the carb. If you don't find yours give him a call.

Going to move the topic since it is not Shelby or 69 specific and a wider viewing audience might benefit
