Group 27 battery tray
« on: December 13, 2021, 07:35:16 PM »
Hey folks,
Can someone provide me with the location of the part number stamping on a group 27 battery tray for a 69?
I have one and want to make sure it's original.

There is no engineering nor part number stamped on the part originally. Sheet metal parts typically don't have either.

Might want to look for the date stamp for a start if the condition is nice enough.

Resurrecting this as I have - what I believe is an original battery tray. There are no markings or date codes on it though so I was curious if that could preclude it from being original? It's a somewhat matte finished semi-black. Is there any other telltale signs of an original tray? This is for San Jose car built in Feb 69.

Not seeing any picture(s) If I'm missing it how are your uploading it?

To the subject check the stamping dates on the tray and or the supporting arm to see if it was made after the car was built would be where I would start since I can't see any details

Pictures are not real clear but the area were the support typically has a date stamp I don't see anything.

Because of the lack of dates at least I would guess that its a reproduction.

+1. Repros do not typically have any markings.
