AC Compressor Rebuild
« on: May 05, 2014, 11:27:29 AM »
Can someone suggest how to test the compressor or a Vendor to send it to for testing / rebuilding? I am also looking for the mounting brackets if someone can suggest a supplier
Thanks,
Brian

Classic Auto Air should be able to help you...possibly others, I just don't know their names.

They may also have the Bracket you're looking for.

Provided you can spin the compressor shaft any reputable tech with a refrigeration manifold can tell you if its any good. The only thing I would really be worried about is the seal. The compressor if not left open to the atmosphere has a pretty good chance of being mechanically sound.

+1 on Classic auto air. Make sure you tell them you want case left natural and I suggest you remove original tag and reinstall when it returns. Brackets are fairly common on Ebay or check with Scott at west Coast Cougars (he already answered this thread
