68 390 Dual Vacuum Distributor Questions
« on: March 15, 2022, 12:22:00 PM »
Im on the hunt for a dual vac unit for my 68 390 4speed, and a couple of questions.
1. I read there was 2 versions, one for matics, and 1 for 4speed.  Whats the difference?
2. There are a ton out there on  ebay, mostly 3rd party that looks close, yet all are missing the nut.   Anything to be wary of?
3. Where would I find the nut?

Thanks in advance. love this forum!

Did you look in the library?
Whats the difference?
Probably the springs and weights.

Define "nut".

.Define "nut".

Think he may be referring to the zinc dicromate spring retainer at the end of the housing

If so, readily available from AMK.

If it's for the dual advance unit it is a "Plug" AMK P/N F-1627. You would still need the other parts that go between the plug and the vacuum advance.

Kind of like an oil pan drain plug.
