Title: '66 wiper motor grease

Just needing to clean up a '66 wiper motor - and after 50+yrs, the old brown grease has dried up some what.
The Workshop Manual recommends "Sun Prestige Grease" (but Google no findie!)
What grease would you recommend to replace?
Lithium? Bearing grease? Multipurpose?
If so, any brand better than another?

Yes!
The grease in my wiper motor looks about as old as that tin!!!  ;D ;D ;D ;D
Thanks - I just didn't want to put something in there that was going to clog it up, or melt in the heat down here in Aus.
I'll look for a GP grease in a nicer colour! ;)

You will want to clean all the old grease residue out and use a modern general purpose grease. These days the synthetic red grease is typically on every store shelf. In aviation we have used Mobil #28 red synthetic grease for perhaps the last 60 years. The automotive version is sold as Mobil #1 grease.

What you don't want is anything containing molybdenum which is typically found in "Disc Brake Type" greases. You don't want black or white (Lithium) grease. You want GP red or brown grease. Usually that will be the cheapest on the shelf.

(As luck would have it, Ampol has just made a comeback here Down Under, and apparently "Ampol Limited and ExxonMobil have entered into a marketing alliance, where Ampol will blend, distribute and market Mobil lubricants in Australia. ExxonMobil owns the Mobil brand, following its acquisition of Mobil Oil in November 1999. Ampol will supply Mobil lubricants to retail and business customers through a combination of direct and distributor channels. The manufacturing, distribution and marketing conversion to Mobil lubricants will commence in 2021 and will take approximately 12 months to complete."
How's that for timing? 8)
