Title: Original placement of trunk drop holes
Post by: 13Outlaw on February 27, 2016, 09:54:12 AM
Good morning all, I'm headed out to fit my trunk drops to my new quarters, does anyone mind posting a picture of the original hole position. I searched and found a thread (Re: '69 Mach--Need Pics of Original Wheelhouse/Trunk/Quarter) that looked like what I am needing, but I wanted to double check. I just have the 64-70 drops, so I have some work to do. I've attached a pic of the pic that was posted and my cars progress. I have everything mocked in place and will be welding solid soon. Thanks in advance!

I have a set of NOS 69 trunk floors listed in the For Sale section:

If the photos are insufficient, I could get some measurements for you. The floors are still available.

I can't comment on whether NOS hole location matches original assembly parts - perhaps someone else here can confirm?

I have my  67 Shelby up on stands at the moment. I can take fixed point measurements if they are needed.

I appreciate it, I was able to locate the original (or as close as possible) hole locations. Thanks again!

Oh the generic trunk drops. Its good you looking for the details now. Can't believe the number of rebuild cars I see where there are no quarter drains or patches around holes where the builder messed up and moved the other holes

No 69 Dearborn car at home at the moment to measure locations for you - Sorry

Back up lights

Just as a comment the corners and how the cross member comes together with the trunk drop panel is often not focused on and often the telltale sign that they have been changed. Tough tight corners that are difficult to get to. Think of going to the back side of the panel rather on the visible side from underneath. Just a thought
