Was the glove box light an option on 69-70 cars? If it was, what was the decider on getting the light?
I looked at previous posts and it indicated that the light wasn't standard but I wanted to make sure.
-
News to me, I've never seen one without a glove box lamp but of course I haven't seen them all.
Courtesy lighting is standard for 69 as stated in the 69 brochure.
My car has the visibility group with the lighted ignition switch and map light, but I doubt you had to opt for that just to get a glove box lamp.
-
Schematics indicate the glove box light only available with clock and map light harness; the glove box light is at the tail-end of everything.
-
Makes sense since it would be mounted in the same panel as the clock. My low option car does not have the glove box light.
-
Visibility group option gave you the Glove Box / Map light.

Is the hole in the metal dash frame where the switch would sit, left open or plugged with a grommet?
