Title: '65-'67 vs. '68 convertible rear seat back spring assembly
Post by: Oz390 on December 26, 2010, 02:29:21 AM
FAM calls out a different seat back for '68.  Same one was used from '65-'67.  Know the screws changed, 1" vs 1 1/4".

Anyone know the specific changes made to the seat back spring assembly?

Seeing that your referring to the assembly manual - what part of the year (what is the date) is that page referencing. As we know there was a problem with the seat backs (read recall or service program) and the different number could be referencing the original design or the one after that identified the problem.

Just a thought

'65 to '67 call out C4ZB-7666700 spring assembly.  '68 calls out C8ZB-7666700.

Date on '68 FAM drawing is 11-7-67, superseded 5-11-67.  67 drawing is dated 6-9-66.  A drawing rev sems missing (maybe many) but as the seat backs added the deluxe emblems a change for that is required (and noted).

Just noticed the number change and got curious...
