Title: '65 Reproduction Antenna
Post by: C5ZZKGT on May 23, 2011, 03:02:22 PM
When I bump mine during cleaning/polishing it rattles kind of tinny like sound, (My Wife's '57 Chevy also does the same thing) some folkd at the Jax show this past weekend said evedentally the REPROS don't have the COSMOLINE inside them to stop this rattling that makes them sound cheap like the originals do....is there any way to add the Cosmoline to the repros??

The only way to get rid of the rattle is to replace the repro part with a genuine Ford piece.

your radio reception will also be noticably better with an original antenna.

Thanks Gentlemen for the replies. I have not really driven my car that much but the reception does seem ok so far, I think I'm going to try & take a repro apart to see if something like Cosmoline can be added just for fun.
