Title: under hood adhesive/sealer
Post by: kammertime on September 01, 2011, 12:51:22 PM
Was the material used between the frame and skin sealer, adhesive or sound deadener and what is the best product to use to duplicate it ? It appears somewhat pliable to the touch and was rather porous (spongy) looking. The hood and decklid have been dipped and lost all the original material. If it matters, 1969 application.

Thanks,
John

Think you will find at many of the paintable sealants will work ig they dry hard enough. Some testing will be required - never had any thing dipped - well one car and will not do that again

Go to your local auto paint store and ask to see a body sealant chart. SEM makes a good one.  L SMITH
