Title: Which carby
Post by: V8_bloke_28 on September 01, 2012, 07:06:47 PM
Hi,
Which carby is factory original for my 67 gta 390?
I think it's suppose to be a Holley?
I don't know what type, size brand, part number or colour it's supposed to be.
Please help.
Cheers

Depending on the DSO, most 390 GTA's got a Holly 4150, list 3794, Ford C7OF-B, carburetor. I think they were rated at 600CFM. The exception is wonderful California Smog cars delivered to DSO 71 (L.A.) or 72 (San Jose) where the Holly list was 3796, Ford C7OF-D. A vintage Holly would be bronze. Pay attention to the date code which is a three digit number used on factory cars, aftermarket or Ford service would be a four diget number.

There are also manual and automatic applications so for the correct Holley carb # you'll need Thermactor/non- thermactor and manual or automatic trans

Think I've got a couple of C7 735 Holleys for 390's somewhere :)
