FORD HOSE CLAMP
« on: September 14, 2015, 09:58:27 AM »
This clamp was on the fuel line on my 69.  I didn't know that Ford made worm style hose clamps. Were these clamps installed on my car?  I tossed it on a buffer wheel and it appears to be at least 316 stainless.  There are numbers stamped on the clamp as well. Please Advise.

Typically you see the worm drive "sure tight" worm drive clamps holding the P/S return and pressure line at the control valve on later 67-70 Mustangs.I can't remember seeing a application where it was typical to see a worm drive used on the fuel line from the factory. Maybe others?

Thanks Bob!  That's where it's going to be installed.

I discovered Ford worm drive clamps on a '92 SSP LX I bought. They were on the heater hoses and radiator hoses. While not necessarily applicable to the vintage cars, my point is they continued using them on later cars too.

iI can't tell for sure but it looks too small for the control valve.

I pulled the fuel pump on my '91 Grand Marquis recently and the rubber hose on the fuel pump had the exact same type of worm gear clamps.
