Black Interior Paint Finish
cob428:
Bought a complete fold down seat set, hockey sticks, side panels, seat, trap door, quarter trim panels etc. is in rough shape and have to restore. Does anyone know of the correct paint or a supplier that has the correct paint. Interior is black.

If you want something relatively close, you can buy spray cans from any parts vendor. Otherwise, you can have some paint mixed up and spray with a gun. Would need to know your trim code to make sure you get the right code.

The interior code is 3a but I didnt know if it was the black with metallic or if it was a semi black??

IF this is a 69-70 (you didn't include it in your post :( then the color is Dark Charcoal Metallic (yes for called it Black interior)
The color can be mixed (depending on your local laws) for use in a spray gun or purchased in a rattle/spray can. Coverage is poor (very light on solids) so many that apply it with the spray cans first apply a thin coat of semi-gloss black paint to the surface (no primer since additional product will reduce or eliminate the factory grain) then overcoat it with the charcoal metallic in a dry coat. Too much product will produce a finish that is too smooth and too shiny
PPG/Ditlzer number is #9295
This is the same color that is used on the dash, steering column and other painted pieces in the interior except for the 69-70 dash pad extensions, which have a flatter final finish
Hope this helps

Jeff,
The Dash pad extensions, you state they have a flatter finish. Are they the same charcoal metalic only flatter or are the a more flat black?
