My intent was to have the outer ring chromed to match the 65's so that I wouldn't use the trim rings i am now..
The trim ring was a "cure" for the scratches from tire installation on an all chrome wheel. The black was easier to touch up than chrome.

I'm close to going this route for my wheels, and the plater that I normally use says that there is no way for them to "blow" the chrome in far enough with the hub still attached to the hoop.  I'm going to check with a few more shops but it does not look promising.

if those are new OEM wheels still in the boxes, I'm way jealous.

After looking at it further, I think the idea of re-chroming the whole wheel is going to be questionable so I guess I'll stay with the chrome that is on the wheels, polish it up and re-paint the recessed areas. With that in mind, this photo  shows a wheel with the areas around the bolt holes in black and I'm wondering if this is what I need to be doing to mine. Was this correct for 64.5?

I've seen another thread dealing with the color of the recessed areas on the various dates for the wheels so I'll go there to review it for my July  9th 64.5 so as not to start the conversation  again here.

Thanks.

Glenn
