no they will not show past the rocker molding. If someone was half assed painting the car, the plastic trim piece would be easy to remove, since grabbing it with some pliers and ripping it out, without fearing damage would be real easy. The first picture i posted clearly shows the plastic doesnt extend very far above the pop riveted catches. The rocker molding hooks onto the top of these catches. Your car looks the same as mine without the gap filler.
